It's not rare for Taiwanese to love Taiwan, but it's rare for someone to come all the way from France to Taiwan to selflessly devote themselves to this land. Father Liu Yifeng, a French national who is now approaching his 80s, has been preaching in Taiwan for 25 years, without knowing any Chinese language. He has been deeply involved in Hualien, dedicating over 50 years of his life to Taiwan despite having no blood ties to the country. Father Liu has not only been spreading the gospel, but also dedicating himself to supporting disadvantaged groups such as people with disabilities and abandoned children in rural areas. Since 2011, the foundation has been collecting various resources, including clothing and fabrics from all over the province, aiming to turn them into useful resources and value-added products to help disadvantaged groups achieve self-reliance and return to society. The establishment of the foundation aims to bridge the gap in humanistic care, providing support to help disadvantaged street dwellers survive in society.
